Robin Hanson

Hi, I’m Robin. I’m a single mom of twins who grew up in Southern California, went to UCLA, lived in Japan, and worked in the financial industry for most of my career.

Work started out for me in a very hallowed place - the public library - where I was offered the blissful position of shelving books at age 16. In between then and now, I have been an executive assistant, English teacher, marketing manager, and more. My passion through-and-through, however, has been reading, writing, and telling true stories. I have believed that telling your story creates peace for not only you, but also the world. The cathartic and bonding affects of true storytelling is the backbone and inspiration of The Missing Peace.

I studied Linguistics and Business Administration at UCLA, several years of Spanish, seven of Japanese, and in my days outside of my undergraduate work, I took years of memoir writing courses. I grew up in Southern California with my parents and eight siblings, where storytelling took its early roots in my heart as the bunch of us would entertain each other endlessly. Someone always had a story.

If I’m not in the living room dancing, you can often find me smelling the pages of a book I am about to devour, making big pots of pasta, or writing my heart out in the attempt to find the deepest of all truths.
