Angel City Sports Storytelling Hour

The Missing Peace is honored to have collaborated with Angel City Sports, whose mission is to create sports opportunities for adults and children with physical disabilities and impairments, and five of their Paralympian and adaptive athletes in telling their personal stories last Thursday at the Writers Guild Theater. Through two of our workshops and one-on-one critique, we guided Mia Schaikewitz, Ahkeel Whitehead, Michael Garafola, Candace Cable, and Ezra Frech (pictured below) in telling their stories of heart and courage in the face of loss and fear. It was an emotional evening attesting to the greatness of the human spirit. These personal narratives bonded all those in attendance in our shared humanity, and with the common message that we are all the same. We truly enjoyed being a part of this heartfelt evening, and supporting this irreplaceable organization! Check back for more about our involvement with ACS in future adaptive games and events, or visit their website in support of this non-profit organization.
